Dog-Friendly Holidays For Nervous & Reactive Dogs

A Little More Space
A Lot Less Stress
We know from experience that holidays can be a lot more complicated when you have a reactive dog — because we have reactive dogs ourselves.
Our retired police dog, in particular, has some very strong feelings about motorbikes and power tools!
So we understand the planning, the anticipation and sometimes the worry that comes with taking a reactive dog somewhere new. That's why we've created Quantock Cottages with plenty of space, privacy and freedom, so you and your dog can relax and enjoy your holiday together.

Space. We have rather a lot of it!
Your own private enclosed garden, three secure exercise fields and 9,000 acres of Quantock Hills on the doorstep mean there is plenty of room to spread out, find a quiet spot and let your dog enjoy the world at their own pace.
For nervous or reactive dogs, having that choice — and not having to navigate busy dog parks or crowded walking routes — can make a huge difference to a relaxing holiday.
A luxurious single-storey cottage with ground-floor bedrooms, an enclosed garden and private hot tub.
Our romantic retreat for couples, perfect for honeymoons, anniversaries and those weekends when you simply need some time together.
A beautiful single-storey retreat with wonderful countryside and coastal views, a private hot tub and enclosed garden.
Our newest retreat – a luxurious, dog-friendly woodland escape nestled within secluded private woodland.

Everything They Need To Feel
Relaxed & At Home

Private Enclosed Gardens
No shared gardens and no strange dogs appearing at the door. Just your own enclosed space for your dogs to potter, relax and enjoy some quiet time.

Private Secure Exercise Fields
3 Six-foot fenced, sole use and plenty of room to run. Let them off the lead and enjoy watching them just being dogs.

The Quantock Hills
The Quantocks are wonderfully under the radar. On many walks, seeing another dog or person is a rarity — giving you the freedom to explore at your own pace.

The Coast & The Beaches
When your dog is ready for a little more adventure, head for the coast. Quiet stretches of shoreline, fresh sea air and plenty to discover together.

“We hadn’t been on holiday for 5 years because of our reactive pup.
We found Quantock cottages through a friend and people recommending it in dog groups, and eventually we decided to give it a go
.
We needn’t have worried. Having our own enclosed garden and private field meant we could relax, and the Quantocks were so quiet that we actually enjoyed walking them. The dogs had an amazing time and, for the first time in years, so did we. We’re already planning our next visit!”

We are very lucky; we do tend to get booked quite far in advance, as not only do many of our guests come back year-on-year, but they often come several times a year - their dogs insist on it!

Three beautiful cottages and an enclosed woodland glamping retreat, each with its own character, private enclosed garden and space for you and your dog to properly switch off.

Your enclosed garden opens straight onto 9,000 acres of open heathland, with panoramic sea views, deep wooded valleys threaded with streams and miles of tracks to explore together with your dog.
