Coleridge is a beautifully appointed single-storey dog friendly cottage on the Quantock Hills in Somerset. This cottage is actually my favourite one! From the design process to living in it for an extended period of time, I just love it.
Designed for comfort and ease, it combines luxurious interiors with ground-floor bedrooms, a private hot tub and a secure 6ft enclosed garden.
It's a wonderful choice for couples, families and anyone who prefers the simplicity of having everything on one level.

There's something wonderfully easy about a single-storey stay.
No stairs to navigate (always useful if you've had a little tipple or 2!)
No Bedrooms tucked away upstairs
Just beautifully designed spaces flowing naturally into one another
Coleridge has 2 ground-floor bedrooms and is designed to make your stay cofortable from the moment you arrive

2 Beautiful Ground Floor Bedrooms
Both ground-floor en-suite bedrooms feature super king beds
The bed in the 2nd bedroom is a zip and link, so it can be set as a twin or superking
The master bedroom with its silk canopy, its Zoffany wallpaper and beautiful bed linens makes for the perfect romantic hideaway
The second bedroom with its striking silk damask wall papers and handmade soft furnishing and high end bed linens allows for a tranquil retreat.
Ground Floor En-Suite Bathrooms
Both bedrooms have luxury en-suite shower rooms.
They both feature powerful rose head showers (nothing worse in having a dribbly shower!)
They have underfloor heating to keep your toes nice and warm.
Heated towel rails are present as you can't be having damp towels
Fluffy bathrobes and "treat for feet" slippers also await you.
After a day exploring Somerset, sink into your private covered hot tub and let the world disappear for a while.
There's also outdoor space for relaxing, eating and enjoying those long summer evenings.
And when the sun goes down, there's no better place to be than beneath the Quantock sky.

A relaxing break is only possible when your dog is happy, safe and settled too. Being dog owners Simon and I totally get this.
That’s why Coleridge's garden is properly fenced to 6ft.
Your dogs can safely sniff, explore and enjoy the freedom, while you can sit back without worrying about them.
Because let’s be honest, happy dogs = relaxed humans. We humans are after all just the facilitator of our dogs holidays and their drivers !
You have a hot tub so it is only right that your four-legged furry family have their own spa as well!
For those dogs who love nothing more than a properly muddy puddle or rolling in "Ode De Badger" or "Ode De Fox" sadly (well for them anyway!) your single storey cottage has a doggie bath tub with hot and cold shower and also a drying bench.
To save you having to bring a million towels, we have a proper doggie hair dryer. You will find this in your boot room.
As said above, although Coleridge is not DDA compliant, it is very popular with those who are mobility impaired.
My elderly mother loved staying at Coleridge as she could:
Park directly outside of the cottage's garden gate.
The fact that the cottage was set over one level she did not have to worry about steps.
With the exception of the 2 inch front door threshold no other steps have to be navigated.
With countryside views from the open plan living area and the master bedroom mum felt that she was part of the world and not shut away from it behind four walls.
Mum also loved the east facing garden as again she loved looking out to sea and across the fields. She was able to do all of this without having to make any huge effort on her walker.
2 of the Enclosed Dog Exercise areas are located just across the narrow country lane from Coleridge.
The cottage sits in a beautiful part of Somerset with the Quantock Hills on your doorstep.
Walk, explore, discover the coast or simply enjoy the peace of your own private retreat.

9,000 Acres of AONB heathland for walkies is at the end of your garden

If you feed raw or large quantities of kibble, no worries our local pet shop will be delighted to deliver your desired brand to your cottage.
