Welcome to our Quantock Cottages in Somerset

Dog-friendly shouldn't mean making do.
We created Quantock Cottages because we couldn't find the kind of holiday we wanted to take with our own dogs.
Somewhere they weren't simply tolerated, but had genuinely been thought about.
Somewhere with secure gardens, private dog fields and wonderful walks — but also somewhere we'd be excited to stay ourselves. So that's what we created.
Think: deep sofas, crackling fires, hot tubs under the stars, and enclosed gardens and secure dog fields where your dogs can be dogs — safely, freely and happily.
And for you? Space, privacy, and the feeling that you've finally arrived somewhere that gets it.
Happy dogs | Relaxed humans | A very good holiday.
"Emma & Simon, thank you for providing this oasis of luxury & tranquillity. It is the first holiday our reactive rescue dog has been settled, which meant we too were able to relax" Sandy, Shaun and Juan. August 2026

For the last 16 years, Simon and I have loved welcoming guests — two and four-legged — to our little corner of Somerset.
When you book your stay at our Quantock Cottages, you book directly with us. No third-party holiday cottage agency, no anonymous call centre. From your first question to the moment you arrive, it's us you're dealing with.
We want it to feel less like booking into a holiday cottage system and more like coming to stay with people who genuinely care whether you — and your dogs — have a wonderful holiday.
Around 75% of our guests return, and we've averaged 98% occupancy year after year. We think that says rather more than we ever
could!
Emma & Simon

A small collection of luxury dog friendly cottages in Somerset, designed for comfort, calm, and space to unwind

Private covered hot tubs for year-round use, set within your own space so you can relax in complete privacy.

Each cottage & our glamping retreat has its own enclosed garden — giving dogs freedom to explore safely and happily.

Three secure exercise areas for guests’ exclusive use — including our two-acre woodland field. Freedom, even when recall isn’t perfect.

A fully enclosed woodland retreat where dogs can explore safely, relax freely, and stay close to you at all times.

Staying in doesn’t have to mean doing everything yourself. Enjoy private dining in your cottage, book a relaxing massage, or simply close the door, light the fire and do absolutely nothing.

Cosy interiors with wood burning fires, deep sofas, and a relaxed country-house feel throughout.

A calm, private environment designed for reactive and sensitive dogs who need space, security, and a slower pace.

Hidden within the Quantock Hills, surrounded by open countryside, woodland walks, and complete peace.

Step out and walk. Thousands of acres of hills, woods and tracks are waiting beyond the cottage.

Beautiful Places to Escape To
Four very different retreats, each with its own character, beautiful interiors and private space to switch off — with your dogs very much part of the experience.

We could tell you. But we think our visitors’ books say it rather better..
"Emma & Simon we can't say enough to express our thanks to the both of you. Your wonderful welcome, our special treats that Simon made for us. You really can't underestimate the power of your little piece of heaven that you both have created here. Love and best wishes Pauline & Mick" (& Lola The Border Collie 10th August 2026)

Come & Make Yourself At Home
Walk the Quantocks, take the dogs to the beach or explore Somerset if the mood takes you. Or light the fire, sink into the sofa and go absolutely nowhere. Your dogs have space to be dogs, and you have space to properly switch off.
