The Quantock Hide is off the beaten track and being rural and secluded is swathed in romance and luxury, perfect for a romantic, dog friendly holiday.
THE COTTAGE
This gorgeous 2 bedroom country chic cottage is approached via its own woodland driveway. The secluded cottage is very special both inside and out, with its rich fabrics, stylish furnishings and state of the art conveniences. It has a hint of a noble hunting lodge with a sub tropical garden paradise and a Balinese inspired covered hot tub and tiki bar.
Your private garden is accessed straight from your cottage is fully enclosed and to the best of our knowledge, it is dog secure. It has awesome tropical plants, a Bali inspired covered hot tub & tiki bar and a large wild flower meadow all watched over by 400 year old beech trees. At the top of the garden you have your very own "Rascal's Bar" which has epic country and coastal views. In your garden you can truly allow nature to nurture you. With bird song, views out to sea, the 9,500 acres of Quantock moorland at the end of the garden, peace and quiet is a given. The garden is fully enclosed for four footed family members and there is also a dedicated doggie spa which has hot and cold taps, a bath tub and a drying bench for those muddy and sandy moments.
Glamping But Without The Camping!
Have all of the benefits of glamping but without the uncomfortableness of camping. Pixie Glade is a leafy woodland hideaway which is just off your private drive. Enjoy toasting marshmallows over the open fire or an indulgent picnic as you listen to the back ground music courtesy of the local bird life or, perhaps partake in a sparkling bottle or two of something rather lovely as you lay back and watch the twinkling lights and stars above.
Please note that between mid July and the end of August guests of the Quantock Hide have exclusive use of Pixie Glade up until 5pm. After that guests staying in Greenway & Coleridge may also have access. Outside of this July-August time guest staying across all 3 cottages can use Pixie Glade at any time. When you book your stay you will be sent the link to our Cottage App which has details how if you want to have exclusive use of the glade you can book this.
THE PRACTICALITIES
Once you have entered the Beech Hanger country estate you will follow the signs to your private and exclusive drive. It is easily navigable but it is steep. The bedrooms are eaved and you do have to duck a bit to get in to bed. Once in there is plenty of head room. Because of the eves when the 2nd bedroom is set as a twin the beds are pushed up to each other. The master bedroom has a roll top bath for two and a separate en-suite WC. The 2nd bedroom has an adjacent bathroom with a wonderful powerful shower and a WC. The property is attached to the east end of the owners private stable yard. The Quantock Hide is very secluded and private but from your bedroom windows (which are on the 1st floor) you may see the 2 horses below taking themselves off down the track to their fields. Parking is off road and private and there is room to park multiple cars The cottage has full wifi and most mobile phones work well here.
