Win the ultimate dog friendly short break in Somerset by helping dogs in need

Updated: Oct 25, 2021

For just £5 you could win a 3 or 4 night stay for up to 4 people in one of our luxury, very dog friendly cottages on the Quantock Hills (AONB) in Somerset worth over £,1000. All money raised from this raffle will go to W.A.G.s Retired Police Dog Charity, whose purpose is to raise and provide funding to assist with large veterinary fees for the retired Police dogs of Wiltshire, Avon, Gloucestershire and Somerset. By entering, not only will you be in with the chance of winning this fantastic prize, you’ll be helping lots of wonderful doggies too.

Did you know that it is not possible to get insurance cover for large retired Police Dogs? It’s their handler or new adopter that’s responsible for the cost of their health care. Any dog owner knows how expensive vet fees can be, especially if they need emergency care. Unfortunately, far too many dogs have ended their years of loyal Police service needing to be put down because their owners simply couldn’t afford the treatment they so richly deserved. This is why much needed charities such as W.A.G.S were set up.

As the owners of retired police dogs, this wonderful charity is very close to our hearts and we are so passionate about supporting them. We were contacted by W.A.G.s who said they would be there if any of our ex-Police dogs ever needed major clinical care, which was enormously reassuring.

Many Police dogs are actually ex-rescue doggies, so after experiencing horrible starts in life, they were then lucky enough to have a rewarding career working for the Police. This is why we are so excited to offer this prize, so we can help to raise as much money as possible for these hero dogs, should they require urgent medical care in their twilight years.
